four friday faves.

[1] The Jim Gaffigan Show on TV Land ... so so funny.
[2] Madewell ... I first heard of this clothing site/store a few months ago. After seeing so many rave reviews, I took advantage of their extra summer sale a couple of weeks ago to get a few new tops. Love love.
[3] "Be Strong" print from Jones Design Company ... just ordered this to hang in our family room near the front door.
[4] New Orleans ... we have a special trip planned next month, and I can't wait!

getting older.

At this point 3 out of 4 of our children have had their birthday this year ... Matthew is up next. His is an extra special one, so he will have a post all his own. :)

First up - Hollis on April 9th.
SO hard to believe our baby is now three! We had a fun day planned with her favorite breakfast foods, taking her to see Cinderella [her first movie in the theater], and presents, of course. The next day we headed to the beach for more celebrating with Mama Anne, Daddy Nick, Aunt Susie and Uncle Dave. This is the first year she really understood her birthday, so that made it extra fun.

Next in line - Hudson on May 20th.
Hudson's big day began with his breakfast of choice, and ended with swimming @ the country club + his most favorite dinner - Hungry Howies pepperoni pizza. As a bonus, Hudson's birthday usually falls around Memorial Day weekend, so there's more celebrating there ... Star Wars style. :)

Last but not least, Eli on July 6th.
Somehow Eli manages to stay little, which is so nice considering his siblings are growing up way too fast ... and we never would've predicted his little size since he was by far our biggest baby! [weighing 9 lbs. 5 oz.] Our now 5 year old had a big birthday, which kicked off at the beach with lots of family on the 4th of July. Firetrucks and legos were the theme - his absolute favorite. Then on his actual birthday, he enjoyed sweet rolls for breakfast, his first set of golf clubs, lots of pool time, and a happy meal for dinner. Safe to say, our little guy had a big time. :)

four friday faves.

We are vacationing in Boca Raton at the moment ... one of our very favorite places to visit. Here's why:

[1] Family. We just love Gus' aunt, uncle & cousins, who graciously invite us into their home. Spending time with everyone is the best.
[2] The scenery. Little neighborhood canals, Spanish architecture everywhere, countless palm trees. Love love it all.
[3] Shopping. Soooo fun going in stores like Anthropologie & Nordstrom since we don't have them back home.
[4] Memories. Our annual trips here create such great memories for all of us ... Swimming in the pool, playing at Sugar Sands park, going for ice cream @ Mizner Park, bike riding along the intercoastal ... we are blessed to enjoy such a fun, beautiful place with sweet family.

With upcoming trips to Mexico Beach and Boca, here are some things I recently snagged on sale with our summer vacas in mind ...

[1] Shea Moisture "coconut & hibiscus" wash from Target, which smells the best.
[2] Sperry flip-flops from Dillards.
[3] Gap "palm print board shorts" for Gus. :)
[4] Carters swimsuit for Hollis that I cannot wait to dress her in next weekend!

four friday faves.

I'm back! Great, fun things have been happening in our life. April was pretty jam-packed for us, which is why I've barely blogged lately. But life is now getting back to a more normal pace for me ... So, here is a sneak peek of four important events I'll dedicate individual posts to this month. Can't wait. :)

thirteen years!

On February 16th, Gus and I celebrated our 13th anniversary. We were able to get away to Destin for the night, and had such a great time. I love shopping at the outlets, and thankfully I married someone who can easily tolerate and even enjoy outlet shopping too! We stayed at the Henderson Park Inn, which is such a great place to stay ... not the cheapest, but completely worth it. It's adult-only, all inclusive, and has the best breakfast. We discovered the Henderson Park Inn last year, and hope it will remain our anniversary go-to spot for years to come. [except for maybe the bigger ones like 15th, 20th, etc :)]

Our wedding day seems so long ago, yet the past 13 years have flown by so fast. Maybe it has something to do with the four little people who joined our family :) Here are some of my favorite photos from that incredible day. I could not wait to marry Gus!

four friday faves.

I missed last Friday's post because I was in Savannah enjoying a girl's [aka: bachelorette] weekend. I'll likely post about that soon. In the meantime, here are a few of my favorites associated with that weekend ...

[1] Laura Mercier "baby doll" lip gloss given by the beautiful bride.
[2] Anthropologie "homegrown monogram mug" given by one of the bridesmaids - love love.
[3] Sun Bum sunscreen also given by the bride - this smells soooo good, and I can't wait to use it.
[4] Gianni Bini pumps I bought [for only $31 on clearance!] for our night out on the town.
